The way anhydrous VC products work is the Vit C stays undissolved until it’s on your skin, and then uses the water in your skin to dissolve. If you’ve ever used an anhydrous (water free) Vitamin C product and noticed some tingling a few minutes after application, that’s the AA dissolving on your skin!
OP • 3 yr. ago. Hey guys. After my active breakouts calmed down, I decided to incorporate the Minimalist 2% Alpha Arbutin Serum for reducing my scars and pigmentation. Here is the result and my review after almost 1.5 months of usage. Skin Type: Combination/Normal (Depending on the weather)
Then add in a Vitamin C. Keep using the niacinamide in the morning, just use the vitamin C at night. Try this for 3 weeks. If everything is working, keep going, or experiment using both layered. I don’t use vitamin C myself, but The Ordinary had a Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% product that might be a good place to start. Duke Parameters: The Duke Antioxidant patent outlines the formulation parameters required for effective delivery of vitamin C to skin: 1) pure l-ascorbic acid (vitamin C); 2) an acidic pH within the 2.0-3.5 pH range and; 3) a concentration between 10%-20%
